BU Webinar Recap – Sepember 18th

We were honored to host representatives from Boston University (BU) for an in-person seminar and portfolio review at ICON Art Academy. As one of the nation’s top research universities with a strong reputation in the arts, BU’s visit gave our students a valuable opportunity to learn directly from university admissions professionals and gain a clearer understanding of the application process.

Portfolio Feedback

Students participated in individual portfolio review sessions led by a BU admissions representative. During these reviews, students received personalized guidance on how their portfolios are assessed within a competitive admissions setting. The feedback emphasized their creative strengths while offering specific suggestions to strengthen presentation, concept development, and artistic storytelling.

University Overview

The BU representative also introduced the university’s academic programs, learning environment, and admissions expectations—highlighting the diverse opportunities available across BU’s creative and interdisciplinary departments. Students learned about the qualities BU seeks in its applicants and what life is like as a part of its vibrant and inclusive campus community.

Events like this go beyond admissions preparation—they inspire students to think critically about their creative direction and academic goals. By interacting directly with university representatives, students left the session with greater confidence, motivation, and practical insight into pursuing higher education in the arts.
