ICON Art Academy’s Online Digital Painting Program helps students develop the technical skills and creative confidence needed to create compelling digital artwork. Students can begin with foundational instruction or advance into project-based work designed to challenge their skills and prepare them for art competitions. Our program is offered at two levels so students can learn at the pace and level that is right for them.

Introduction to Digital Painting: Building a Strong Foundation

The Introduction to Digital Painting class is designed for students who are new to digital art or want to strengthen their fundamental skills.

Students will learn:

• Essential digital painting tools and functions

• Brush and layer management

• Color, value, and composition

• Digital drawing and painting techniques

• Basic rendering and shading

• Methods for developing and refining digital artwork

Through guided exercises and practice, students will become comfortable using digital painting tools while building the technical foundation needed to create their own artwork.

Advanced Digital Painting: Developing Your Skills Through Creative Projects

The Advanced Digital Painting class is designed for students who have established foundational digital painting skills and are ready to apply them to more challenging creative projects.

Students will:

• Develop original concepts and creative ideas

• Apply advanced digital painting techniques

• Work through complete artwork from concept to final piece

• Strengthen composition, color, rendering, and visual storytelling

• Receive individualized feedback and guidance

• Develop artwork for art contests and competitions

• Build experience creating polished, presentation-ready work

The focus shifts from learning the tools to using those tools creatively. Students are encouraged to develop their own artistic direction while taking on projects that challenge them to grow.
